Bedding sand is a screened sand (typically 3/16" or finer) designed for high-stability, compactable bases in construction and landscaping, such as under pipes, electrical trenches and horse rings. It provides excellent drainage, prevents settling, and is often used to fill trenches or as a stable, sterile, and durable base for animal bedding.
Approximate Weight per cubic yard (loose): 2600 lbs (1.3 tons)
Depending on how tightly you compact it, compaction could require up to 20% – 30% more.
